An empty cross…..my house is full of them. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because I seem to spend my life forgetting to remember. \u00a0I forget to remember what was done for me. \u00a0I forget to remember why I’m even really here. \u00a0And I forget to remember that, no matter what happens to me or around me, a most beautiful future awaits me. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because the completeness of the cross of my Christ is just that complete.<\/p>\n
All might have seemed lost to my brothers and sisters of old, like John and Mary, but they just had to hang on, even in the middle of the most desperate of moments, because something far more satisfying than anything they had ever experienced was right around their next corner. \u00a0They needed to not forget to remember all that their Jesus had done, all that their Jesus had said, all that their Jesus had been, because their Jesus still was; and he still is today. \u00a0Their cause was far from a lost one, a fact that they would soon discover as they came face to face with a risen Christ. \u00a0No, their cause was many, many things, but it most certainly was not lost.<\/p>\n
There’s that word “lost” again, a word thrown around quite a bit among Christ followers, so much so that the weight of the word is somehow lessened (at least for me). \u00a0We all need, and desperately so, to not ever forget to remember that we were lost, truly, and there was no “sign” in the world big or powerful enough to ever get us back to any type of good place…..until the cross of Christ. \u00a0It is the ultimate sign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
